Market research and competitor analysis for better decisions

How big is your market really, who are your best customers and what will your competitors do? We build the fact base and turn it into concrete choices: where you play, for whom and how you win.

Deciding without market insight is gambling

A new market, a new target group or a price change: these are choices with big consequences, often made on gut feeling. A chat with a few customers, an impression of what the competitor is doing.

Sometimes that feeling is right, sometimes it costs a year and a budget. We build the fact base around the one decision in front of you, so you choose with evidence rather than hope.

On gut feeling

  • A conversation with a few customers
  • An impression of what a competitor does
  • Hoping it is right

With evidence

  • Market size, with sources
  • Segments by return
  • Where the margin sits

What this means · Your position

Specialised, in a price range where nobody is strong yet. That is the open space the research brings to light.

Illustrative example. Circle area = relative size; gold = your position.

Example of a market map: five players by specialisation and price level; the height shows their size, gold is your position.

Not panel research, but strategic insight

A classic market research agency measures what large groups of consumers think. That is useful, but it rarely answers your decision. We start from the choice in front of you and look for exactly the facts needed to make it well.

Frequently asked questions about market research

How does it differ from a marketing agency?

A marketing agency helps you carry your message: campaigns, content, advertising. We help you choose beforehand: which market, which customers, which position. A marketing agency can use that insight afterwards. We do not run campaigns ourselves. From insight to choice is the job of strategy and economics.

Which sources do you use?

Public statistics, annual accounts, industry information, conversations with customers and experts, and field research where needed. Which sources we use depends on the decision in front of you. Every figure in the report has a checked source, so you know where it comes from and how solid it is.

How long does a market analysis take?

Usually two to six weeks, depending on the question and how much field research is needed. A question about one competitor goes faster than an analysis of a foreign market. The schedule is in the proposal after the introduction. You can read how an engagement runs in our approach.

Can you research foreign markets too?

Yes, around a concrete decision about expansion. For example, whether Wallonia, the Netherlands or another country is an attractive next market, and how best to enter it. We combine public sources with conversations, on site or online. For tech companies this is part of go-to-market.

What does market research cost?

Every piece of research gets a fixed price in the written proposal after the introduction. The price depends on the question, the number of markets and how much field research is needed. So you know in advance what you pay and what you get. Tell us in an introduction which choice you face.
